March 2017 Fourth Thursday Meeting

Today's meeting was extra special! We had two new members, Jack and Cindy, new songs and lots of laughs. In a way I'm glad we're still a small group, we sure do have a lot of fun.

One of the club's favorite songs is 'Night-Blooming Jasmine' by Tracy Newman, an American television producer, writer and musician. The song sheets and .mp3 are on the Song Files page.  Here are her Wikipedia page and her website. I've transposed the song to the key of F to make it easier for everyone to sing and the chords a little more ukulele-friendly.

February 2017 Second Thursday Meeting

Today's meeting had a couple of nice visitors, a lady named Nina from Indiana and a young gentleman who tried out a uke for the first time. They didn't get to stay long but were a welcome addition. Our snow-birds Tom and Jaque are back and Tom brought his tenor guitar with 4 strings, tuned like a baritone Uke.  As usual, the meeting was fast-paced, fun and we got to hang out with some great friends!

January 2017 Fourth Thursday Meeting

This evening's meeting was a treat! We've practiced most of the songs several times and have gotten pretty good. We have a new member, Ty, who may bring another player next time. We win! Thanks, y'all.

Tonight at the Llano Library we were so pleased to have new member and new Uke player Diane with her hubby Frank who graciously took the photo. We had a great turnout tonight and had tons of fun!

December 2016 Fourth Thursday Meeting

This meeting Glynis Crawford Smith of the Highlander newspaper came out to photograph and interview us at the Marble Falls Library. This photo and the article were posted on the front page, above the fold, on Dec. 27th! We had a great meeting and wonderful exposure in the community.

October 2016 Fourth Thursday Meeting

As sometimes happens, this meeting we were SMALL BUT MIGHTY. What we lack in numbers we gain in enthusiasm. We've added a couple more songs to our songlist and hopefully in the upcoming holiday season, we'll have time to practice at home. Really, it could happen!

October 2016 Second Thursday Meeting

We met at Fuel Coffeehouse this time, as the Llano Library had plans for their meeting room today. We started at the top of our Songbook and worked down quite a long way this time. Of course there's always time for laughing, joking and stuff. Just kidding, this is serious business (yeah, right). Always a pleasure, thanks for the great turnout, Strummers!
