This Fourth Thursday, the Marble Falls Library community room was closed for renovations. Virginia was so gracious letting us meet at her house and even provided us (me) with a dish of chocolates. Our group is sometimes small but mighty, changing the world four strings at a time!
Once again, Gateway Villas Assisted Living invited us to their annual Luau. We were privileged to play for the guests. They sang along with nearly every song! P.S. Scroll down for the update.

Update; The photo above was taken moments before showtime while we were looking for Patrick, who I suspect was outside being a Ukulele Star for the guests. Then I got accused of Photoshopping him out. Well, I could, so I can PS him in, now can't I?

This meeting we had many of 'the usual suspects' and a guest who made a significant addition to our little band. Bobby is a drummer and played my new Slaptop Cajon this meeting. It was awesome! He had never attended a Ukulele Club meeting and said it was a great experience.

Once a year, Marble Falls Public Library has a Summer Reading Program in the Community Room, so once again we met at Virginia's house. New members Mira and Steve came and we had a capital time. Thanks to Virginia's grandson for taking our photo!
Today's meeting was extra special! We had two new members, Jack and Cindy, new songs and lots of laughs. In a way I'm glad we're still a small group, we sure do have a lot of fun.

One of the club's favorite songs is 'Night-Blooming Jasmine' by Tracy Newman, an American television producer, writer and musician. The song sheets and .mp3 are on the Song Files page. Here are her Wikipedia page and her website. I've transposed the song to the key of F to make it easier for everyone to sing and the chords a little more ukulele-friendly.
