January 2018 Fourth Thursday Meeting

Another amazing meeting tonight! We started a bit early and managed to play almost the entire songbook, even with all the chit-chat that seems to always happen. A patron of the library stopped in and stayed for the meeting. I must say I can't blame her, we're quite the ensemble. Linda said she had a wonderful time and she'll be back. January 2018 Second Thursday Meeting

This week's meeting was such fun! Don brought the little purple bass, which at Elizabeth's suggestion I've named Iris. With Bobby's percussion and Don on bass, we sounded better than ever!

We also discussed the healing power of music. It's a real thing. Thanks so much, y'all.

December 2017 Fourth Thursday Meeting

Our Marble Falls meeting was tons of fun as usual. Two new victi...I mean members, Donna and Jerry, joined and were welcomed with open arms. I think it's fair to say they had a super time and will be back!

December 2017 Second Thursday Meeting

Tonight's meeting at the Llano Library was a blast, y'all. We had a new member, Patti Jo and a guest. We went through the regular songbook, skipping a few select songs so we could actually get to the end of the book this time.

Thanksgiving 2017 at Fuel

Don's and my band, Turnabout, offered to play music for the annual free Thanksgiving meal and party at Fuel Coffeehouse in Llano. As part of the entertainment, the Highland Lakes Ukulele Club appeared at 2pm for a half hour show. It was great fun to be part of the Fuel family and friends and enjoy the day. We know how much we have to be thankful for. For us, it's the music, the community and good friends we've met through music.

November 2017 Second Thursday Meeting

October 2017 Second Thursday Meeting

Once again we had a nice showing for the meeting, including our percussionist who really fills out the sound. I'm feeling a little nostalgic, we have met so many wonderful people through the club. It's a great opportunity to get together with like-minded folks to sing and play!

This Fourth Thursday, the Marble Falls Library community room was closed for renovations. Virginia was so gracious letting us meet at her house and even provided us (me) with a dish of chocolates. Our group is sometimes small but mighty, changing the world four strings at a time!
